Lorena Olivares

Lorena Olivares will be facilitating NMSHSA efforts in administering funding from Farm and Food Workers Relief grant program through the East Coast region.

Originally from Mexico City, she has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's in Administration from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM).

She has experience working in academia while working in different areas of the Postgraduate School at UNAM. Her range of activities included evaluating documentation for scholarships, facilitating travel, maintaining the program budget, event organization, and yearly program development and planning. Lorena complemented her experience with an accounting certification from Del Mar College, Corpus Christi TX.

She has lived in Corpus Christi, Texas since 2017. During her time in Corpus Christi, she given back to the community through service. She sat as a Board member for the Instituto de Cultura Hispánica. With her activities in the community and while new experiences living in the U.S. she has come to realize the importance of migrant workers in this Country, which is why she has remained passionate about collaborating on projects that help people in need.

Most importantly, she is currently a mother and wife, who cares about the development and well-being of children.
