A brief overview of what I will be starting Monday with the Child Labor Coalition and Justice for Migrant Women. Excited to work with these two organizations; and what I learned during my two weeks in DC.

My placement is with the AFOP. I am very excited to share that their mission aligns with the change I would like to see for farmworker children and families. I look forward to sharing stories of members of my community that come from agriculture backgrounds.

As I start my internship, I reminisce on the last two weeks in Washington D.C. Although I may not be interning where I planned, I remain excited to begin my journey with the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association.

The importance of networking, the main source of connections. Introducing oneself with a 30-sec pitch and my experience with networking.

This internship has exposed me to networking and given me the opportunity to introduce myself and my story. This involved preparation of a quick speech and ways to create genuine relationships with placement managers and peers.
